If string beans could choose to be fancy, I imagine this is how they would do it! I mean who doesn’t want to dress themselves up in butter?!
Wait….no else wants to do that?
1 pound string beans, stem end removed
1 tablespoon minced shallots
1.Bring a large pot of water to a boil and add 1 tablespoon salt. Add the string beans and cook for 2 minutes. 2. Drain and then place the string beans in ice water. This is called blanching! It kinda freezes the beans into that pretty green color!
Now time for the herb butter!
1. Place the shallots, dill, parsley, butter, 1 teaspoon salt and the pepper in a small bowl and combine. Then take the room temperature butter and fold it in. Mixing all the shallots and herbs into the butter.
2. Scoop a generous tablespoon of the herb butter and place it on top of the string beans. Sprinkle with salt and serve. The butter should melt onto the string beans and it is awesome!
