Cocoa and Cranberry Overnight Oatmeal with Good Earth Tea

Christmas morning is full of anticipation and surprises. It is about gathering under the Christmas tree with your family, enjoying each other.  That doesn’t mean no one gets hungry! This cocoa and cranberry oatmeal is warm and decadent. Perfect for a chilly morning and hungry guests. You can set this up the night before and wake up to the house smelling festive! This recipe uses brewed tea as a base as opposed to plain water or just milk. I used Good Earth Tea’s Nutty Cranberry Delight  as the inspiration as well as the liquid for this oatmeal. Adding in dried cranberries and highlighting the cocoa undertones really made this oatmeal rich. It is the perfect hearty breakfast with something a little special for such a magical morning!

Instructions
  1. Bring three cups of water to a boil in a medium size saucepan. Steep 1 ½ tbsp. of Good Earth Nutty Cranberry tea in the water for 15 minutes. Strain and set aside.
  2. Spray your crockpot with non stick cook spray. Add the dry ingredients such as the oats, brown sugar, cocoa powder, salt, cinnamon and dried cranberries. Mix together to incorporate.
  3. Then add the tea and whole milk to the mixture, stir again.
  4. Add the butter to the top and cover. Set the slow cooker on low for 7-8 hours.
  5. You may want to set aside some extra milk to use when you ready to eat it. Stir and pour the milk over it to loosen mixture if you desire. Top with more dried cranberries and almonds.
