Under the Sea Mermaid Tea Party

My daughter looks forward to her birthday all year round. It even rivals Christmas! This year she was all about the Little Mermaid. We came up with Mermaid Tea Under the Sea. My goal was to create a tea party that felt like it was in the middle of the magical ocean. We had Ariel show up to sing songs, read stories, and play games with our attendees. Siena was so excited to be princess for a day!

A lot of the supplies I found on Amazon. I found a beautiful set of Shell cups, plates, napkins, and cutlery all in one set. I chose light blue table clothes with a sequined runner. I would say the sequined runner was the start of show. It made the table glitter and sparkle just like sunlight hitting the ocean. A very inexpensive way to make a big impact.

In order to give the under the sea feeling I relied on hanging jellyfish lanterns and long blue fringe. I hung the fringe around the outside of the tent. Then hung the jellyfish above the table throughout the tent. I also hung a mermaid background at the front of the tent. Which gave a dedicated spot for Ariel to stand and made for a great photo opportunity for all the girls!

I purchased mermaid tail paper goody bags. When you have pretty goody bags they also double as decor in my opinion! I filled them simply with mermaid straws, pens, and mermaid tail note pads. Don’t forget to visit your local dollar store or amazing savings. Sometimes you can really score in terms of the goody bag, especially if you are following a seasonal theme. I try to check those stores before I rely on Amazon orders. I found the glass teacups, which were really espresso cups at Amazing Savings.

Below are some quick little videos of the prep and the party supplies !
