Disneyworld Eats and Treats Guide 2023
Some of my all time favorites for nostalgia are Mickey Waffles and Dole Whip. If you can't get down with those two things you probably shouldn't visit Disney period.
Places that surprised me were Space 220, Via Napoli, Chef Art Smith's Homecoming, and San Angel Inn (Epcot). Space 220 I was skeptical about because it was so hyped up. Most restaurants that people make a big deal about, and have larger price tags I tend to be disappointed in. The food was surprisingly good
The coffee situation all the way around is a travesty. You have tired adults EVERYWHERE. The coffee at every hotel or character breakfast is like gasoline. If you don't like that then you have to like Starbucks or Joeffreys, I do not care for either. Most people I have talked to agree. Wish I knew this beforehand! Why didn't anyone tell me?!
Oh and the Cheshire Cats Tail is a glorified chocolate croissant :). However, if you are an Alice fan like I am, you might as well give in!
My New Disney Favorites
Mickey Waffles- You will find them at every breakfast spot, they are impossible to miss. You have to have them at least once. I love them because they are nostalgic!
Moana Smoothie- The Polynesian has a seriously adorable breakfast. The skillets are pretty darn good, with biscuits and tasty potatoes. Across the board I feel like all the scrambled eggs at these character breakfast are, well yuck. But the potatoes made up for it. Also, the pineapple pastry bread is legit good. The Moana smoothie was surprisingly one of my favorite things I had on my trip. It had hints of cherry, it wasn't overly sweet. Of course the edible Moana was a nice touch.
Art Smith's Homecoming- This was one of our favorite meals. I got the Fried Chicken Sliders with hot honey, delicious. I will forever be dreaming of those fried pickle spears. Thank God for 7 miles walking in the park per day!
Space 220- I was pleasantly surprised by this place! Yes, it is pricier, for sure. I feel like this is great if you are visiting Disney with older kids, like middle school and up. Or maybe it is an adult trip, this is the place to go. The atmosphere is interesting, as if you are sitting in a spaceship. Although you are not seeing Minnie and Mickey floating around outside. It is a little more mature or realistic than that. The food is more upscale and executed a bit better than your traditional park fare expectations.
Via Napoli (Epcot)- Really amazing pizza! I can’t believe I am saying that, but it is true. We were also pleasantly surprised by the quality of the antipasto. The Mortadella was some of the best we have ever had, and the cut of prosciutto was above standard as well. It is the only pizza worth eating in all of Orlando as far as I am concerned.
Cheshire Cafe- The Cheshire Cats Tail is really just a chocolate filled croissant. It was definitely good, but I didn't feel like it was something different. The pink and purple icing is cute, but nothing incredibly special. However, being a huge Alice fan I am glad I checked it off my list.
Also, do not forget that starting your day in Epcot with a croissant and hot chocolate in France has a whimsical feel. Follow it up with lunch in Japan, where you can roll your own sushi, and the yuzu chicken wings I suspect are seriously good. If you are feeling fancy grabbing a spritz in Italy or champagne in France is also a fun way to enjoy the day. Also, don’t forget about the Mickey Pretzels! I know there is a lot of hype about the waffles but the pretzels are equally enjoyable.
