During our quick trip we got a chance to see a football game. Brian is a soccer player (still!) and pretty much watches as much soccer as I will allow. I mean, I am a fan, but I don't need to wake up early Saturday morning to view it. Or listen to it on long car rides.

We were only in Maine for a couple of hours but we were determined to visit every clam shack along the way! This one was definitely a treat. The fried clams have to be the best I have ever had.

My parents were very brave and always brought us to restaurants. Somehow we sensed it was a privilege and left the couch cushion wrestling moves at home. I felt as if I was let into a top-secret club when my dad occasionally took me on day trips to his favorite “spots.”
