The Oscars are fast approaching this weekend. This Marshmallow Popcorn Milkshake is a fun take on a movie snack favorite. Movies and popcorn are synonymous with one another. Everyone looks forward to a big buttery bowl of this crunchy treat. However, I think I found something even better. Adding in the marshmallow and vanilla ice cream took things to another level.  This milkshake is salty and sweet with a buttery undertone.

Popcorn Marshmallow Milkshake

This milkshake is salty and sweet with a buttery undertone.

ingredients

  • 1 c whole milk

  • 2/3 c popcorn (I used a low sodium plain version from whole foods)

  • 1/2 c mini marshmallows

  • 2/3 c vanilla ice cream, two large scoops

  • 1/4 tsp salt

instructions

  1. Place the popcorn in a blender and pulse until the popcorn becomes like a fine breadcrumb.

  2. Then add the marshmallows, milk, and ice cream. Blend until smooth. Taste the milkshake and see how tastes first without the added salt. Depending upon the popcorn you use may depend how much salt you use.

  3. Add a little bit of salt if necessary and blend for ten seconds more. Then pour into glasses topping with the mini marshmallows and a couple of pieces of popcorn.
